Youth Baseball and Softball honors

"Mr. Baseball" Tim Anderson

Cal-Mum Youth Baseball and Softball recognized former president of CMYB, Tim Anderson, for his eight years of service to the organization and at least double that to game of baseball over the years. Anderson, Town of Caledonia Councilperson and recently elected Cal-Mum School Board member, received the honor from present CMYB President Dan Harmon at the opening day parade and ceremony on May 2 at Tennent Park.

His numerous hours of service to CMYB have included overseeing more than 170 youngsters involved in the league, answering countless parents’ phone calls and organizing numerous fundraising events both for the youth league and the J.V. and varsity teams at Cal-Mum High School. He’s been instrumental in creating new summer programs for middle and high school players to learn and enjoy the games of baseball and softball. Anderson is also a highly respected umpire in the area, trains new umpires and handles Section V scheduling of umpires.

"It is a very unselfish character trait that allows Tim Anderson to be truly devoted to his community. CMYBS baseball thanks Tim Anderson for his many years of service to the game of baseball and dedicates the 2009 season to him," Harmon said at the dedication ceremony.

He’s been dubbed "Caledonia’s Mr. Baseball" and for good reason. Stepping down as president of CMYB will not diminish his dedication for baseball and softball in the community. You’ll still see him wherever the game is being played, somewhere between Caledonia and Florida.

Anderson resides in Caledonia with his wife Linda and children Michael, a member of the Red Raider varsity baseball team and Hannah a middle school student.
