Rules & Regulations Governing Application for the Award
Article 1 - CATEGORIES:
- MERITORIOUS SERVICE:
- Individual contributions to the GVUA, NYSBUA, and/or Professional level
- SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE:
- Outstanding performance as an umpire at the local, state, or professional level
Article 2 - QUALIFICATIONS:
- Nominees in either category must be or have been a member in good standing with the GVUA for at least ten (10) years.
- Nominees not elected will be carried forward for one (1) year only, after which they will have to be re-nominated for further consideration.
Article 3 – NOMINATION PROCESS
- Made by any current GVUA Member in good standing
- Must complete the GVUA nomination form by the first business Meeting of the year.
- Must accompany nomination with 2 additional letters of recommendation
Article 4 – HALL OF FAME SCREENING COMMITTEE:
- GVUA Vice President (Committee Chair)
- GVUA Membership Appointee
- Two (2) Presidential Appointee’s from the Membership (2 year term)
- One (1) Presidential Appointee who is a current Hall of Fame Inductee (2 year term)
Article 5 – DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Attend the annual screening meeting of candidates
- Evaluate and Approve nominations of candidates
- Voting should rate candidates on a 1-5 scale
- Determine the induction class for prescribed year
