Minutes for Winter Meeting 3/20/11

Held at LeRoy American Legion, LeRoy, NY

Meeting was called to order at 10:01 AM by President Raftery.

ASSIGNMENTS

• Assignment will come via email As PDF file just open.
• Everyone except non-email people need to reply that they were received
• Monday, Wednesday and Friday will be busy days for high school.
• Not much room for turn backs.
• If you do have an emergency make sure you make necessary calls in time.
• Regular game times for Genesee league is 4:15 for Livingston 4:30.
• Change of policy for Section V – this year there will be suspended games
• If a game is cancelled you should be notified – however you may be on your way

and if you show up and no game is played you will receive mileage. If game is started and less then 4 innings played (1/2 fee) if 4.5 innings or more full game fee.

WEBSITE

• Assignment are not on website at this time. Possibly Monday or Tuesday Night
• Green Box on means the game needs to be confirmed
• 24 hours to do that, then game will be given to someone else.
• AD’s for all schools are on the website and updated

SUMMER ASSIGNMENTS

• By May 1st there will be a template for availability sheet for summer games
• Availability sheets will be due back by May 15th.
• You will then receive a June and July schedule by May 31st.
• There will be a few summer games in May, all contact will be via email for May
• Summer games the busy days are Saturday and Sunday, especially May and June.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

• Membership - Dave Roome. 8 new members at 2/6/11 meeting. 4 here today for test.
• Banquet – Paul Scott -The banquet will be held on July 27th.
  • Eat from 6:30 to 7:45
  • Make sure everyone emails or otherwise let Paul know if attending or not.
  • He needs to have count within 2 weeks of banquet date.
• 50/50 - Paul Scott has gone well this year thanks to members support.
• Nomination Committee- Jerry Wolcott.
  • No new nominations have been received.
  • Jerry made motion to close nominations : Approved T. Burch 1^st / Reichard 2nd
  • Jerry made motion to cast 1 ballot for current officers: Approved Scott 1^st / Lund2^nd
• Fundraiser Committee- Rich Kosierk
  • Rich explained new fundraiser – Food cards similar to lottery.
  • Tickets will be distributed at the July banquet
  • Drawing for month of August.

TEST ADMINSTRATION

• Interpreter Comments – Bob Young
  • When checking bats this season. All aluminum with BESR and wood are good.
  • Question about composite bat, coach most have a waiver that says it is OK to use.
  • It must say BESR or BBCOR. Any BBCOR bats are good this year.
• Test to start at 10:41
  • New format has changed this year. One-third of test T-F, the rest are Mult. Choice.
  • We will do 1-31 all, and 32 – 100 even only.
  • 11:39 finished. Answers for test were given & members corrected their tests.
  • Questions were then answered about difficult questions

REMINDERS

• Rookie meeting 1st,2nd,3rd year members at Pavilion HS on Thursday 3/24 at 6:30 PM
• Hat sizes 2 and 3 are not in yet – should be soon.
