Minutes from Executive Board Meeting 5/14/05

Actions in Bold – due next meeting

·        Start Time: 3:30pm

·        Attendance – R. Raftery, B. Charboneau, R. Tepedino, B. Pitcher, P. Pegoni

·        New people must fill out the GVUA application form – All 2005 & 2006 probationary members.

·        Contact Paul Marriott about consistency in announcing umpire information during games at Dwyer.  Only introductions No other comments are appropriate unless approved by Umpire Board. Raftery

·        Ryan to contact Lester’s (Prong) about supplying our umps with improper equipment.  Raftery

·        Change roster level to Probationary, Associate, Certified.  Adjustments sent out to Board.   Tepedino 

·        Executive Session (4:10pm)

o       To discuss umpires #1073, #1049, #1054, #1068

·        Contact umpire #1073 about dues, has not sent in his payment.  Umpire #1073 was contacted by the secretary 5/15/05, if not received by 5/20/05 President will withhold payment of an umpire fee.   

·        Umpire #1049 is wearing an improper uniform, letter will be sent.  Charboneau

·        Umpire #1054 needs additional evaluation; ratings are bad from umps and coaches. Charboneau

·        Umpire # 1068 - Executive Board unanimously voted to suspend immediately indefinitely for multiple violations of GVUA Constitution.  Letter will be sent 5/16/05.

·        Executive Session Ended (6:15pm)

·        Jack Gilman Letter – Ryan answered Jack’s letter on May 12, 2005.  Letter will be included in 1^st business meeting agenda.

·        Review of sectional assignments

·        Closed – Time: 6:30pm
