8.   Old Business        Raftery             (10 min)

·        Ejections procedure needs to be adhered to. 

·        Emphasize using e-mails for all correspondence to Executive Board. 

·        Logos on hats: GVUA purchased initial hats for all certified members.

                                                               i.      All future hat purchases are the responsibility of individual members.

                                                             ii.      JV will continue to wear plain navy blue hats. 

                                                            iii.      A hat will be awarded one time to all Associate umpires who become certified.

                                                           iv.      GVUA purchased 100 addition hats for sale on 12/05 - Charboneau

·        Rookie camp – Bob C. 1^st meeting, 2/13.  1^st year umps have to attend.  Optional for 2^nd year.

·        Formal evaluation process for Probationary & Associate umpires.

·        This will include an evaluation for both the plate and the bases.

·        Evaluations will be used for advancement to Certified status starting in 2005.

·        Two (2) full evaluations (plate & bases – 1 each) needed before obtaining certified status

·        Responsibility of Umpire to contact an approved evaluator prior to June 30

·        Failure to get an evaluation will prohibit any further advancement

·        Finger Printing – NYS Required (must be completed before June 2006)

·        Cost: prior to June 2006 $0.00 (free) / After June 2006 $100.00 per person

·        Location:  WEMOCO BOCES, Big Ridge Rd. Spencerport NY

·        Dates/Times: Mondays & Thursdays from 3-5 pm until June 06

·        Must be completed by all GVUA members prior to Test March 2007

·        Finger Printing – Cost for new members

·        Section V will cover $50 to new members

·        GVUA will pay up front cost for new members

·        New member will be required to perform 1 summer assignment without payment to help pay defer the cost

·        Awards Announcement (class of 2006) Umpire of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Hall of Fame
