Minutes from Business Meeting 3/21/04

 

·         Meeting called to order 10:15 am – Raftery

·         Secretary went through roll call - Tepedino

Excused: Congelli, Nichols, Spiotta, C. Brown, M. Brown,

Missing without excuse: K. Johnson, D. Young.  Letters sent requiring a $10 fine to be paid before the season starts.

·         Secretary read minutes from first business meeting 2/1/04.  Motion to accept minutes Anderson, 2nd T. Burch.  Motion passed unanimous.

·        Banquet, D. Hare, 4 options, final vote Batavia Muckdogs

Ø      Golf at Terry Hills - $15 for nine includes cart.

Ø      Dennis announced that he would no longer be organizing the banquet.

Ø      Membership gave Dennis an ovation for his efforts.

·        Ryan explained availability process.  Many questions on assignments followed.

·        J. Youngs  – fundraiser Zap a Snack summary.  Another profit was announced.  Final total TBD.

·        Dues for 2005: $60 Varsity, $40 JV.  Membership approved.

·        If fundraiser earns enough money check feasibility of reducing dues for next year.

·        Motion to accept By-law changes.  1st T. Burch, 2nd P. Scott.  Majority vote

·        Rico to create umpire tracking sheet recording pertinent information.  Information will be collected during meetings.

·        Ryan went through updates of the new GVUA Website.  AD’s phone numbers and school’s numbers are posted.  Plan to have Coach’s numbers on-line.

·        Summer Ball – GVUA is responsible for all organizations we service.

·        Proposed one assignor for all GVUA summer activities.  Qualifications identified. Resume’s to be submitted to Executive Board for approval.  Board will pick the final  assignor.

·        You can volunteer for any game but you can’t get paid unless you go through the assignor. 

·        Motion to close debate:  Anderson, 2nd Siracuse

·        Fee structure for summer baseball was presented.  Motion to accept structure as is T. Burch, 2nd R. Siracuse.  Motion passed:  majority vote - 4 opposed.

·        Motion to vote to compensate assignor: Pay will come direct from the leagues.  Motion made by P. Scott, motion carried by majority vote – 2 opposed.

·        2004 Baseball Test,  Review Test

·        Ratings handed out and explained – Raftery.  Suggest to identify comments from coach or umpire.
